In the 1900s, the land of Mountain Creek Ranch was wild. Horses ran the hills with the freedom of the wind. The creek snaked through the valley and bubbled with the purity of a spring breeze. Blackberry bushes dotted the landscape. Quail scattered from the stirring of the coyote, and life ran its circle untouched.
In 1910, U.R. Williams purchased the land, and this corner of the world became known as the Potter Homestead. Children ran as the school bell rang at Hailey Schoolhouse. Picnics, hunting excursions, and ice cream socials left their imprint on this special spot.
Phil and Kimberly Melugin were captivated by the beauty of the rolling hills. They bought the land in 2018 and named it Mountain Creek Ranch. At first, the plan was a working ranch, forever home, and a place for family to gather. But the story began to unfold, calling for a new chapter to be written.
Not new to ranching, the Melugins previously owned a ranch in Kansas and worked the land for over ten years. Aside from a successful bird-raising and hunting operation, they focused on a farm-to-table beef operation. Over the years, they became skilled at raising the healthiest, most nutritious beef cattle while hosting amazingly successful bird-hunting adventures. In all that the family offers, genuine and warm hospitality radiates from the core.
Today, Phil and Kimberly Melugin stand at the head of a family of twelve; two daughters and a son, their spouses, and four precious grandchildren.
We invite you to stand on a hill at Mountain Creek Ranch. Close your eyes. Declutter your mind and return to the power of ‘once upon a time.’
“There is something appealing about this land. It has a beckoning power, calling one back to the things that are most important in our world…earth, peace, health, family, and adventure.”
Phil Melugin – Owner, Mountain Creek Ranch
